Superstar Rajni and Aish movie Endhiran has crossed the production state except for a one song sequence. Director Shankar is teaming up with Superstar again after superhit movie Sivaji, The Boss. The film cost around 210 crores and it is one of the biggest film budgets in Indian film industry. The stylish director has given hit movies in the past like Boys, Gentleman, Sivaji, The Boss. The movie was originally named Robot but due to some tax exemptions to film with Tamil title it was changed to Endhirin, taken out from Iyandiran or Iyandira which literally means robot.Veteran filmmaker Shankar is coming up with huge budget film ‘Endhiran’ that was ever been made in Indian films. It is being made with 165 crores budget. It has even crossed the records of bollywood high budget film ‘Blue’ (2009).
There was lot of confusion regarding the title of the film. Earlier, the titles such as Iyandhiran or Iyandhira were under consideration but later it was finalized as ‘Endhiran’. However, same problem has been faced with the casting of the film. Before, it was Sharukh Khan who has been selected for the lead role but it was dropped due to personal conflicts with the script. Later, many names were under consideration but Rajini’s name was confirmed for the male lead.
Several actresses were also looked for the female lead in the film. They include Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Asin Thottumkal, Trisha Krishnan, Sriya Saran, Priyamani and Nayanthara. But finally Aishwarya Rai bagged this prestigious offer. She was paid with a huge remuneration of Rs.6 crores and that made her highest paid actress in India.
It was recently reported that ‘Endhiran’ is scheduled to release by the month of August.
